A rock breaker is a powerful percussion hammer fitted to an excavator for demolishing concrete structures or rocks. It is powered by the excavators’ auxiliary hydraulic system and usually comes in only straight moil form; Micro Excavations have custom tapered rock breakers in addition to straight moil breakers.
- Straight moil has a thin hardened tip used for punching holes in concrete.
- Tapered has a hardened wedge shaped tip or moil used for splitting & breaking slabs or splitting rocks.
